Pros and cons of the model. “Kozak-2” State Border Guard Service of Ukraine The armored vehicle “Kozak-2”, belonging to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, was developed by the Ukrainian enterprise “Scientific and Production Association “Praktika” in 2009. Initially, a prototype was manufactured under the name SRM-1 “Kozak”, but serial production was not started at that time for several reasons. Subsequently, in 2014, specialists of “Praktika” began designing a new armored vehicle based on the SRM-1 “Kozak” using the Iveco Eurocargo chassis. By the spring of 2015, the “Kozak-2” variant was presented. This armored vehicle belongs to the class of MRAP combat vehicles, designed to protect the crew from mines and ambushes. Its functions include patrolling, escorting vehicles, communications and fire support for personnel in combat. The crew is protected by armor from small arms fire of caliber 7.62 mm, ammunition fragments and mines. The vehicle is equipped with anti-traumatic seats with five-point seat belts for the crew and passengers. The armament of the “Kozak-2” includes various types of machine guns. The armored vehicles used by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are equipped with large-caliber DShKM machine guns.
