I talk openly about the challenges, sacrifices, and emotional realities of building a life in different countries while navigating complicated immigration systems and the life as an immigrant experience. I explain how difficult it was for me to get my British citizenship back in 2010, including the language requirements, citizenship tests, and culture exams that were already in place in the UK at the time. Interestingly, many of the same discussions and rules are only now becoming part of Sweden immigration and Swedish citizenship systems. We also discuss how immigration policies in Sweden are changing rapidly, and why getting visas, permanent residency Sweden, and citizenship has become much more difficult today. I talk about deportation cases, including young adults being sent back to countries they barely know because of visa and residency complications. This video is not about politics — it’s about real human experiences, identity, belonging, and the complicated reality of immigration in Europe and moving to Europe today.
