Why Don't US Citizens Get to Decide Who is President?

Contrary to what you might think, U.S. Citizens do not actually get to vote for who they want to be President. And, in fact, the people the citizens vote for aren't even legally required to vote for who the people who voted for them wanted them to. They are free to choose who they will, and in fact, some do go against what their voters wanted and vote for someone else. The system is quite complex and seemingly useless and bizarre.
