The telenovela was written by Sylvan Paezzo (1938-2000), a writer and author from Rio de Janeiro, and marked his debut on Globo as a telenovela writer. The author adapted the short story "Vejo a Lua no Céu," which is part of the book "Três Caminhos" (Three Paths) (1933) by Marques Rebelo (1906-1973), a writer from Rio de Janeiro who also wrote, among other works, "A Estrela Sobe" (The Star Rises) (1939), which was adapted into a film in 1974, directed by Bruno Barreto and starring Betty Faria.
