Radio Design 101 - Episode 1 - Transceivers and Filters - Part 2
This video covers the design of bandpass filters, including the concept of quality factor Q, and an introduction to impedance matching. The material is based on a University senior-design course, but is intended for anyone interested in the nuts and bolts of electronics and radio circuits. This is part 2 of a two part episode focused on bandpass filters - including their application, design, and measurement. Future episodes will center around and support teaching of additional key lectures from K-State's ECE662 Communication Circuits Design course, where the semester goal is to design, build, test, and document a complete radio receiver. A companion series focused on the NanoVNA network analyzer (and TinySA spectrum analyzer) provides additional technical background and examples of using related test and measurement equipment.
