Urvashi, Menaka, Rambha, Tilottama, and Ghritachi are among the most celebrated apsaras, each playing significant roles at different stages of mythological time to help accomplish the will of the gods. Sadly, apsaras themselves were rarely given a personal voice in these ancient texts. Even when they bore children to human kings or formed deep emotional bonds on Earth, they were required to abandon those attachments and return to heaven, as their divine duty always took precedence. Their role was seen as essential for maintaining cosmic order.
