Oh you know, just Two small women taking on Two grown men 😋 Let’s see how many people get triggered in the comments 👇🏻😃 - On a serious note, I don’t make films of women in power and action to prove women are as physically strong as men, because obviously we aren’t. And 99.9% of the time we just won’t be. But here is my point: Ive been in Martial Arts my entire life. Surrounded by men in dojo’s and went home to a household of 6 men. The men I grew up around, NEVER made me feel less than. They never treated me like I was weak and never trained with me like I was any different than them. I never felt like being a woman was a hinderance...it always felt like my super power. And the men in my life never treated me like I was just good for being a girl, they acknowledged that I was just good. Especially in martial arts, I had to find ways to use being a girl as an advantage. I was a lot faster, I was a lot more flexible, and I knew how to use strategy. I never complained about being a girl. And I never will. And that has translated in my life in many many different ways, which has allowed me to stay strong in hard moments. When most would break down in a difficult situation, I wouldn’t because I was taught that I should figure it out. When most would cry, I would find solutions because that’s how you move forward. When I had to fight the boys, it wasn’t a problem because I wanted to. I liked the challenge. Never using being a girl as an excuse. That’s what I want to portray in my films. Of course I wanna show women kicking ass, but beyond that, I also want to give the idea that we are just strong. Point blank. Not to take away from anyone, but to add and empower the ones who need it to see it. And I hope to see from men, more encouragement, because if we are all strong, we are all better for it.
