Kunhimangalam Village: Divinity Invoked into Metals | Kerala Handicraft Village
A village near Payyannur in Kannur is famed for a group of artisans who are adept at moulding metal into divinity. With the expertise handed over from generations, these highly gifted artisans create brilliant pieces of idols of deities, lamps, divine articles and sculptures in metal. They are the Moosaris or the traditional bronze workers of Kunhimangalam. How to reach Kunhimangalam Frequent buses are available from Payyanur and Kannur Bus Terminal. The place is about 9 kms away from Payyannur Railway Station and about 56 kms away from the proposed Kannur International Airport.
