We explore the west coast of Fuerteventura from La Pared to El Cotillo. This side is very different from the Caribbean beaches we last visited on our RV tour. In La Pared, high waves crash onto the shore, which can be experienced intensely at Punta Guadelupe. It's also the perfect place to watch the sunset over the Atlantic. Ajuy is a charming fishing village, significant in Fuerteventura's history, and offers several sights and good restaurants. On our tour, we stop at various viewpoints with sweeping panoramic views of Fuerteventura. We visit Betancuria, the island's former capital, which has since become an attraction and important tourist destination. Many flower-decorated restaurants await our guests. The most famous sight on the way to El Cotillo is a must: we marvel at large bronze statues of the kings of the time and drive to the Mirador de Vermossa.
