Characters wander between songs. Memories become dreams. Dreams become reality. Reality becomes something else entirely. Throughout the album, the listener follows strange paths through absurd landscapes, cosmic ideas, forgotten memories, alternate lives, and impossible conversations. By the time Fragments Part 2 arrives, every thread has become tangled together. The Green Grape returns. The Shadow returns. Mellow Jello returns. Sour Puss returns. The Rock Beneath the Sea drifts quietly below. The winner leaves the table. The fish forgets the water. And somewhere between twenty-one days and forty years, between yesterday and tomorrow, between waking and sleeping, the entire world of PSYCH! circles back to where it began.
