Inspired by King Radio’s “Warning To Rich And Poor” aka Sedition Law circa 1937. Exploring the antiquated and vexatious sedition law that was first imposed in 1920 and was routinely enforced in the 1930’s in order to quell the calypsonians who were increasingly giving voice to the prevalent issues of the day and challenging the powers that be to do better for the people and the society. This ancient and anachronistic law was recently dragged out of oblivion and used to silence an international video blogger who dared to boldly profile the pernicious, pervasive and insidious gang culture that proliferates in T+T today. It was a perfect case of shoot the messenger and a warning to all who may seek to embarrass the powers that be.
