All this and more in this video for you. What is a multifocal lens? A multifocal lens is a lens with diopters for intermediate and near vision in the same lens. Yes, in the same lens, the client can see in various directions, simply by making the correct movements. I'll explain how it really works, but first, when should you recommend a multifocal lens? It must be indicated through the medical prescription, when the professional prescribes in the diopter for distance and near vision, or writes the word "addition" in the observation, this shows us that we need to make a multifocal lens. So when you come across this prescription, you should offer a multifocal lens. In the past, we also had a lot of bifocal lenses that have that film, but today they basically don't anymore. Therefore, if the client comes using this type of lens, you should keep it; otherwise, you will indicate a multifocal lens. But okay, so how does the multifocal lens work? It is constructed with progressive asphericity, as if it were a step on a ladder from distance to near vision, thus facilitating the client's adaptation in relation to the change in focus and direction. We call this the design or field of vision. So, the client's diopter is distributed within this field of vision, and the variation of the lenses passes through this field of vision. Obviously, the client needs to adapt to this, needs to learn the correct movements to achieve these focal points, and you need to teach them how it works. I'll leave a video about adaptation to help you understand better and explain it to your client. It's not difficult, but it's very important that you explain how it works to your client. This topic of multifocal lenses is very important because they are usually the highest-value products you will sell, and for that, you need to master it very well. I know this is very important; in fact, the Optic Pro Consultant training has several lessons specifically addressing this topic. And of course, that's not all; there are many more important points about optics. If you want to take a look, the link is below in the description.
