13 Attacking the legs and defending the legs with the military sabre - A German saber method

Cuts to the front leg is a common attack with weapons. Also F.C. Christmann uses leg cuts in his fighting stile with the Napoleonic sabre. We will also have a look on how to defend it with parries in opposition in seconde, prime and demi circle. But it is always a nice idea to use it for an attack in tempo to the head or a cut to the arm while jumping backwards or sliping the leg. Slip the leg is always a part of Christmanns sabre system. The parry with the weapon is the positive parry, dodging is the negative parry. Follow our step by step series through Christmanns "Theoretisch - praktische Anleitung des Hau= Stoßfechtens", it will also cover some rules of fencing as it will show you the world of HEMA and Historical Fencing. At the end you may understand why fencing is a true martial art and not only a sport. It was the way of fighting used in Europe through out centuries and not only sword fighting we think of today.
