Recording Acoustic Guitar Mic Comparison | Large Diaphragm, Small Diaphragm, Ribbon | Rode | Neumann

🎙️ Acoustic Guitar Mic Comparison: LDC vs SDC vs Ribbon 🎸 In this video, I’m comparing three classic microphone types for recording acoustic guitar — a large diaphragm condenser, a small diaphragm condenser, and a ribbon mic. The mics used were: Rode K2 (Large Diaphragm Condenser) Neumann KM184 (Small Diaphragm Condenser) Rode NTR (Ribbon Microphone) Each mic brings its own flavour; the K2 delivers a rich, full-bodied tone with great presence; the KM184 captures crisp detail and string articulation; and the NTR smooths everything out with that classic ribbon warmth and natural top end. For this test, only a small amount of compression was added in post to even out the levels; no EQ, effects, or editing were applied. What you hear is the raw tone from each mic. 🎧 Headphones are recommended to really hear the differences. Let me know in the comments which sound you prefer and why! #AcousticGuitar #Recording #MicrophoneShootout #RodeK2 #NeumannKM184 #RodeNTR #StudioRecording #GuitarTone
