The martyred French village of Oradour-sur-Glane • RFI English
On 10 June 1944, SS soldiers destroyed the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, slaughtering 643 civilians. On the instructions of General De Gaulle it became a martyred village and has been preserved in its state of destruction as a reminder of Nazi barbarity. Some 300,000 people visit the site each year, but the ruins are now a shadow of their former selves. 🔔 Subscribe to our channel now: https://rfi.my/YTen 🌍 Get all the news from around the world live: https://www.rfi.fr/en/ Join us on Facebook: https://rfi.my/FBen Follow us on Twitter: https://rfi.my/TWen See the news in pictures on Instagram: https://rfi.my/IGen
