This performance features two iconic Thai pieces arranged for the Khim (Thai hammered dulcimer) and a Western string orchestra. The Sukhothai Dance (Rabhum Sukhothai) is a masterpiece of Thai archaeological choreography, designed to evoke the spirit of the "Golden Age" of Thai art (13th century). Originally commissioned in 1967, the music was composed by National Artist Mr. Montri Tramote, who adapted ancient melodies to create this regal and timeless soundscape. Performed here on the Khim (Thai hammered dulcimer) with a Western string ensemble, this arrangement brings a new dimension to a classic piece of Thai history.
