My originals EP "The Lockdown Sessions", available to listen and buy on Bandcamp: https://jarrodgrgic.bandcamp.com/albu... ----- Hey everyone, here's a cover of the song "Afghan", believed to be written by Aleksandr Doroshenko. A friend of mine showed me this song a while back and I loved how it sounded, and the fact that not much is known about the artist was very interesting to me. The only records of the original song being released officially have been through compilation albums of Afghan war songs released in Russia, and on Spotify more recently, but for some reason under a different artist (Valery Petryaev). The earliest example I've found of this song being released was on a 1996 compilation album called "Афганистан-4" ("Afghanistan-4"). There are also a few other songs floating around that are credited to Aleksandr, which sound like they may have come from the same recording sessions, based on the fact that the drums, guitar tone and mixing sound very similar to "Afghan", one of which being his song "Бол" ("Pain") (   • Alexander Doroshenko - Pain / Александр До...  ). That song mentions the Moscow White House, most likely in relation to the events of Black October in 1993, and that would mean that the original versions of these songs, including "Afghan", would have been recorded somewhere between late 1993 and 1996. You'll notice in this video that the studio room looks a little different, as there are now acoustic panels on the walls, as well as a decorative strip along the walls that houses the power outlets. I'm really happy with how these look and sound, and they look really good on video as well. I also built a pull-out keyboard drawer to house the DX7 under the table, which allows me to have the M1 and the KRONOS set up on my double keyboard stand, and all of them are pre-patched into the interfaces so I can use any of them at a moment's notice. ----- Programs used: DAW: Logic Pro 10.6.3 Video Editing: Vegas Pro 18 Instruments: Acoustic Guitar: Yamaha 1975 FG-301 Electric Guitar 1: Homemade JBG-6 Electric Guitar 2: Fender 1982 Stratocaster Bass Guitar: Jackson 1994 Professional Concert EX Drums: Yamaha 4-Piece Stage Custom Advantage Birch -- Snare 1: Yamaha Stage Custom Steel 14x6.5" -- Snare 2: Yamaha Stage Custom Birch 14x5.5" -- Hi-Hats: Paiste 404 Medium 14" -- Crash 1: Zildjian 15" Crash -- Crash 2: Paiste 900 Series 18" Crash -- Ride: Paiste 900 Series 20" Ride -- China: Meinl Classics Custom 18" Intro synth and accordion: Yamaha DX7 Intro synth, organ, cabasa and clang: Korg M1 Noise: Korg KRONOS-73 Gear: Guitar Amp: Marshall JMP 2203 -- Guitar Cab: Homemade 2x12 w/ Celestion Greenbacks Bass Amp: Kustom II 1x15 Combo Overdrive: Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive Delay: MXR Carbon Copy EQ: Boss RGE-10 Graphic Equalizer (Rack) Bass Compressor: Boss CS-2 Compression Sustainer Bass Preamp: Tech 21 SansAmp YYZ Bass Splitter: Boss TU-3 Tuner Interfaces: Roland STUDIO-CAPTURE UA1610 Presonus Firestudio Project (x3) Microphones: AKG D112 (Bass guitar, kick) Behringer C-2 (x3) (Hi-hats and snares bottom) RØDE NT1-A (Drum room) sE Electronics sE8 (x2) (Acoustic guitar, cowbell, drum overheads, tambourine) Sennheiser e604 (x3) (Toms) Shure SM57 (x2) (Electric guitar, snares top) Shure SM7B (Vocals) Cameras: Panasonic G95 -- Panasonic Lumix G 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 -- Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 ---- Guitar Tunings and Gauges: Yamaha 1975 FG-301 D Standard: D-G-C-F-A-D Ernie Ball Earthwood Extra Light 80/20 (10-50) Homemade JBG-6 E Standard: E-A-D-G-B-E Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (9-46) Fender 1982 Stratocaster E Standard: E-A-D-G-B-E Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (9-46) Jackson 1994 Concert Professional EX E Standard: E-A-D-G Ernie Ball Extra Slinky Bass (40-95) Twitter:   / imafuturegh   Facebook:   / imafutureguitarhero
