The tomato harvest campaign has begun in Italy, and in this vlog I show you one of my first tomato runs, from the empty trailer to the processing plant! 🍅🚛 I start from our base in Italy, where I hitch up an empty semi-trailer and head straight to the field. The road takes me through an Italian farm and along very narrow roads, through entire fields of tomatoes that are almost ripe and ready to harvest. Later, I receive a new order and head again with an empty trailer to a village about 40 minutes from the base. That's where the real adventure begins: houses right next to the road, extremely narrow streets and millimeter-sized passages with the truck. Once in the field, I was lucky enough to film the entire harvesting process. You will see the special combine that picks and sorts the tomatoes, while they are poured directly into a semi-trailer pulled by a tractor next to the machine. After leaving the empty trailer and taking over the loaded one, I set off towards the factory on other narrow roads, with tons of freshly harvested tomatoes behind me. To show you the complete process, I have also included footage filmed on another day, in which the tomatoes are unloaded at the factory with the help of water, at the special unloading ramps.
