After finishing work, I spent a quiet evening in my small Chinese city. I stopped by a local independent coffee shop owned by a friend and his wife, enjoyed a cup of coffee, and shared a conversation about life and work. On my way home, I walked through the city’s busy streets, passed an ancient Buddhist stupa, and picked up some groceries for dinner. Back at home, I prepared a simple meal of scrambled eggs with chives and mapo tofu. As the night grew quiet, I ended the day the way I often do—by picking up my guitar and singing a song.
