Patricia Maurel: años después, otro nombre
The murder of Patricia Maurel (La Puebla de Híjar, Teruel, 2003). Patricia Maurel Conte was 29 years old, a mother of three, and was running for municipal office as the People's Party (PP) candidate in her town. In the final hours of the campaign, a prior complaint and a family warning about threats painted a picture that, even so, ended in tragedy: Patricia was found dead in a field near the town, having been shot multiple times. In this documentary, I reconstruct the case with a clear chronology and the complete context: what was known that day, what steps were taken, what failed in the chain of protection, and how the investigation unfolded until the trial. The perpetrator was her husband, José Javier Salvador Calvo, who would be convicted for these crimes (the sentence was handed down in 2005). But this case has a twist that makes it an even more difficult story to comprehend: years later, after being released from prison, Salvador was involved in another deadly incident. In January 2019, the victim was Rebeca Santamalia, the lawyer who defended him in the previous trial and with whom he had a relationship. The case shook Zaragoza and ended in the worst possible way, leaving a question that runs through the entire narrative: how is it possible for a story like this to have a "second part"? If you're interested in cases where reality surpasses any script—due to its progression, its warning signs, and its consequences—this documentary is for you. My approach isn't sensationalism: it's about understanding the "how" and the "why," organizing the information, and giving voice to what is usually left in the background: the impact on the family, the children, and the community left to live with the echo of what happened. 👉 Subscribe for more documentaries and live streams on true crime and current events. 💬 Leave me a comment: what detail do you think is most crucial in this case? 🔔 Turn on notifications if you want to be alerted when the next case is uploaded. 📩 Contact (collaborations/businesses): [email protected] #TrueCrime #CrimeNews #Spain #Teruel #PatriciaMaurel #LaPuebladeHíjar #TriunArts You can now buy our book, Daniel Sancho "The Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth," at any bookstore in Spain or on Amazon at the following link: https://amzn.to/3WHJWWR Don't forget to visit our new website: https://triunarts.com/ / caf%c3%a9contriun You can follow me on my social media accounts, Twitter and Instagram, as @triunarts Become a member of this channel if you can, to support it and contribute to its growth: / @triunarts
