[Read Desc] Pinpin le Lapin: L'attaque de poulpe rouge geant (2003, GotohWan, 1080p Export)
THIS EXPORT MAY BE BROKEN OR INCOMPLETE. This does not represent the proper version of the film. You can find other "fixed" versions of this short online that better represent the original animation. ( • Pinpin le Lapin: Attack of the Giant Red O... ). This is the mostly intact flash version of Pinpin le Lapin by Studio Tanuki that was hosted on the websites studiotanuki.com and pinpinlelapin.com (both domains of which are now defunct) back in the 2000s. This was exported using the program Swivel to render it in 1080p. This is the dub that was made by GotohWan. Getting this animation to launch is odd. The original way the animation is loaded was to have a swf that served as a "wrapper" which is separate from the animation, then to load the animation itself. This is how it assumedly hosted different translations of the subtitles without having to upload multiple versions of the film. This version of the film (or at least, the flash file) is partially broken, or incongruent with the other versions of the film online. Some scenes play out of order, too early, or too quick, resulting in overlapping audio or desyncs in the sound. I don't know what results in these issues. My best guess is that detaching the wrapper from the website or loading the animation in newer versions of flash messes with the timing and actions of some of the scenes. In order to not get the video content blocked, the song used in the end credits (BREAK THROUGH by B'z) had to be muted. This is the only change I made to this video. This video mainly serves as a proof of concept as to what a remaster of this short would look like. It's also to bring attention to the SWF file itself. I am strongly considering manually editing the SWF to recapture a few of the scenes and rearranging the scenes to be more like the other versions online. For now, though, this is the best we have to work with. If you want to explore the website files yourself: https://web.archive.org/web/*/www.pinpinle... https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.s... The file that contains the main animation is "data.swf". The wrappers that contain the subtitles usually start with "pinpinlelapin" or some variation. It's possible to load the flash with the wrappers to view the subtitles, but it behaves weirdly based on what program you use. You'll often end up with the animation stuck in a really tiny window. These files are partially broken, but still possible to play. They contain checks at the start that stop the animation from playing, but these can easily bypassed. For data.swf, you may need to delete the first 1 or 2 frames to get the animation to load properly. You can use a flash decompiler like JPEXS to do this. https://github.com/jindrapetrik/jpexs-deco.... For the wrappers, it's possible you can use the same solution, but I found that right clicking and using the "forward" option works to bypass the flash install check.
