In the Apostolic passage from the Epistle to the Romans presented to us today, the holy Apostle Paul once again touches on the topic of the inclusion of Jews and Gentiles into the Church. Rom. 106:11-24 I speak to you Gentiles: as an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry. Perhaps I will provoke my kinsmen according to the flesh to jealousy and save some of them? For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? If the firstfruits are holy, so is the lump; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches are broken off, and you, a wild olive tree, were grafted in their place and became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not exalt yourself above the branches. If you exalt yourself, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root you. You say, "The branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." Very well. They were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, see whether He will also spare you. So you see the goodness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but goodness toward you, if you continue in God's goodness; otherwise, you too will be cut off. But even those, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
