Now, a knit tshirt obviously needs a lot of stretch, especially a shirt for toddlers and kids. It needs to stretch over their heads. So, we need to use stretch thread, or elastic thread. This will give us seams that stretch, instead of seams that break. One of the best things you can do to prepare to sew stretch fabric with stretch thread, is to loosely wind your bobbin, or load your bobbin. This will preserve the stretch, so it's not tight at the time of sewing.
