The whole piece of music is written in 5 movements to narrate the hardships of his father creating paintings along the Silk Road starting from Chang’an into Qilian Mountains. Elements of Qinqiang, Hua’er, Muqam and others along the Silk Road were used as the composing materials, fusing western composing skills into the Chinese national music language, in a concerto form of fantasia suite, five movements: “The Song of Baliu”, “The Lilt of the Ancient Roads”, “The Music of Liangzhou”, “The Dream of Loulan” and “The Dance of Qiuci” were composed. The composer applied an enjoyable approach to depict his father’s most Xiyu style paintings from life along the Silk Road into music, making the soul and flesh bond between a father and son the greatest state of art inheritance. #saxophone #chineseorchstra #concerto 录制于江苏大剧院于2019年10月19日 Recorded at Jiangsu Grand Theatre on 19th of October 2019
