A TIPSY WINE TOUR by bicycle | Mudgee NSW Ep06

Join us in Mudgee (recently named Australia’s no1 foodie destination) on a very scenic cycle as we hit up some incredible wineries before enjoying a great sunset at Lowes Family Wines. Spoiler alert! Mudgee winemakers serve very generous tastings of wine!! If you're looking for a long weekend getaway, Mudgee is only 3.5 hours west of Sydney, and with over 40 cellar doors and wineries in the region you'll be spoilt for choice. We shortlisted 3 for our winery tour - Robert Stein for their numerous awards, Pieter Van Gent for their port and Lowes for their organic wines and stunning scenery. We started our day with a coffee at Alby & Esthers, a vine-covered cafe hidden down a bricked laneway off the main street. This 19th century stone terrace is packed with character and charm, and was very busy - which is never a bad sign! Their famous smoked ham jaffle was highly recommended, by locals and by friends who’d visited the area, so we ordered one, dug in and it did not disappoint. The best part of Mudgee is exploring the wineries by bicycle, for me, this makes it the best #Australianwineregion. Nobody wants to be designated driver, and with so many wineries within a short distance of each other we could cover more in one afternoon. Mudgee you were short but definitely sweet.
