I had the pleasure of being able to experience Sonic Triple Trouble 16 bit: A imagining of what Triple Trouble would have looked like if it was made on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. It blew me away and it was an shining example of how good a 2D Sonic game CAN be......And now, I have finally played THIS game: Sonic and the Fallen Star by StarDrop. Unlike Triple Trouble 16 bit, this is an entirely original game that was inspired by Sonic Mania. And......wow. Where do I start? The soundtrack slaps; has very expansive and creative levels to allow both high speed momentum based gameplay and exploration,; well designed and interesting boss battles; enjoyable yet challenging special stages, a story mode that is full of cutscenes that vary on the perspective of whether you are playing Sonic or Tails, along with tons of charm and originality! I can't believe how excellent, unique and distinctive the game is, and it's completely free to play!
