2020 SEMrush Video of Training Webinar and Demo
In this SEMrush video, I showcase a recent training webinar and demo of the powerful SEO software. I’ve been working with marketing and SEO for over 20 years and SEMrush is one software tool I cannot live without. Today I’d like to show you how I use it for me and my digital marketing clients. In today’s training session we cover: What is SEMrush? SEMrush is an all-in-one digital marketing software suite for research and reporting. The software tool offers features for traditional SEO, technical SEO, PPC, Keyword Research, Competitive Research, Social Media Marketing, Public Relations, Content Marketing, Marketing Insights, and Campaign Management. How does SEMrush compare to popular software products and alternatives? SEMrush vs. Yoast: SEMrush provides you with critical data needed for all types of digital marketing activities where Yoast is focused on helping you optimize SEO focused content inside WordPress. SEMrush vs. SpyFu: I find SEMrush to be extremely helpful for SEO, where SpyFu tends to be stronger for PPC (pay per click) information. SEMrush vs. Ahrefs: I believe Ahrefs is stronger in backlink data, but SEMrush leads pretty much everywhere else. SEMrush vs. Moz: Moz and SEMrush overlap with a lot of features, but when you put them side by side, you’ll receive a lot more functionality for your money with SEMrush. SEMrush vs. Screaming Frog: Screaming Frog is wonderful at crawling a website and providing a wealth of technical SEO information. However, it does not provide the website ranking, backlinks, or competitor data that SEMrush offers. SEMrush vs. KW Finder: I use KW Finder for locating keyword variations and metrics on search volumes and PPC rates. I literally use SEMrush for everything else. What are my personal likes and dislikes about SEMrush? Likes Lots of powerful features that I couldn’t live without Wonderful for knowing what is happening on your website in search Fabulous for knowing what is happening on your competitor websites in search Saves significant time when compared to using Google Search Console Proactive data for technical SEO and issues New features being added all the time Dislikes Really poor customer experience of taking away existing software features when my plan doesn’t change Not great at crawling large scale or enterprise level sites due to pricing model restrictions Live Software Demonstration of Key SEMrush Features How to locate your website’s top keywords, URLs, and backlinks How to discover local vs. national searches How to find your rank for Google Knowledge Graph items like Featured Snippets, Local Pack listings, FAQs, People Also Asked, and Knowledge Panels How to locate rank for images, videos, reviews How to locate position changes How to view data on an industry or market niche How to obtain SEMrush competitive data on your known competition How to figure out who is your real online competition How to compare traffic courses for competition How to view keyword overlap or gaps for competition How to view visitor overlap for competition How to use SEMrush’s site audit to discover technical SEO issues How to monitor technical SEO improvements How to locate the SEMrush’s site audit hidden gems like site structure, canonical links, XML Sitemap completeness What third-party software tools does SEMrush integration to? Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Ads Reporting software such as Google Data Studio Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube Productivity software like WordPress, Trello, and Majestic Want to give SEMrush a try? https://semrush.sjv.io/6eoP6N How can you maximize the cost of SEMrush by using selective add-on’s? SEMrush allows you to select the lowest level possible and then add on units for additional things you use. This allows you to only pay extra for the items you really use. I love this about their pricing model. I tend to pay more for things like website audits, keywords to track, and API units for integration.
