FACT CHECK: Trump uses debunked Michigan case to claim widespread voter fraud

In an effort to claim widespread voter fraud in past elections, Trump focused on a fraud case in Michigan from the 2020 election during his Thursday primetime address. He even ordered FBI Director Kash Patel to re-open investigations into the case, which did not result in prosecutions. However, the case was actually dropped by Trump’s FBI in September of 2025.
