Modernizing an Outdated, Yellow Pine Amoire | How to Refinish Yellow Pine Furniture | Raw Wood Look

In today's video I will be teaching you how I took this armoire from outdated and yellow, to modern and bright! I will be showing you for the first time how I strip a piece down to raw wood & how I go about removing a factory finish. This yellow / honey stained pine was very popular in the 90s and early 2000s. Home decor and furniture styles are 100% subjective and different for everybody. So if you like this style of furniture just how it is, please don't take offense to this video. Everyone has different taste & preferences and none of them are wrong. My client wanted to freshen up this piece so we decided to strip it down to bare wood, to give it a more bright & neutral look. The bare / raw wood look is very popular right now, so I was excited to create this look for a client. Many people use bleach and other solutions to get this look, but luckily this species of pine was light and bright just on its own! I love when that happens. The factory finish on this piece was a lot thicker than I expected, so this project took longer than I planned. However, the final result was absolutely worth it.
