Train Cab Ride NL / Passing a Red Light?! / Lelystad - Schiedam - Amsterdam / VIRM IC / May 2024

Hi everyone! Welcome on board a brand new video. This time a pretty unique situation in the video: the passing of a red light due to signalling failure (faulty track section). Furthermore I've created a nice long ride for you with a total of 205km to enjoy. Have fun! 0:00 Lelystad Centrum Don't worry about the fly on the windshield. There's a Sprinter service running ahead of us with 3 minutes delay. Due to construction in Amsterdam there's a tight schedule today. 18:43 Almere Centrum A 2 minute delay on arrival. The Sprinter service will continue driving ahead of us until Weesp. 23:29 Almere Muziekwijk 26:38 Almere Poort Time to speed up the train. 27:34 Hollandse Brug 29:09 Zandhazenbrug 31:31 Weesp An extra stop at Weesp because of a changed train schedule today. After Weesp we encounter ATB track failure and report back to the train dispatcher. The connection between me and the train dispatcher wasn't clear on his side so I had to correct him twice. When coming to a stop I contact the train dispatcher to ask him what's the plan. At the moment the signal shows a yellow again (train ahead cleared the section behind this signal). The train dispatcher let's me know the next light signal will stay showing the red light and I need to contact him again when I'm there. 1:06:30 Passing a Red Light When arriving at the red light we contact the train dispatcher again. He allows us to pass the automatic signal (P). This signal does not have any switches or bridges behind it, therefor it's a automatic signal (also: paperwork not needed in this case). When there's no train in the section behind it, a P-signal will show yellow or green. Depending on if the next section is free as well. In this case it's a section failure. The section tells the signal there's a train running in it, but there's not. Therefor we must drive on sight after passing the red light until we pass a main light signal allowing a higher speed. After handling this red light I update the passenger about the delay and we try to get back on schedule ASAP. 1:12:01 Ringvaartbrug (No Wires) Pantograph can stay up (won't reach higher than the end/start of the wires). But the trains motors must be turned off when passing the bridge. 1:13:13 Sassenheim We're now 5 minutes behind on schedule. 1:15:04 Leiden Centraal The dispatcher already set our signals to green. Unfortunately we take the slow route via track 7a to 8b (40km/h). After departure we are allowed to speed up to 80km/h after passing the light signal at the end of the platform. 1:21:00 De Vink 1:22:38 Voorschoten 1:24:46 Den Haag Mariahoeve Asking the train dispatcher for green light ahead to we can get back on schedule quicker. 1:26:01 Den Haag Laan van NOI 1:28:27 Den Haag HS 1:31:21 Den Haag Moerwijk 1:32:57 Rijswijk 1:33:44 Delft Update! Time for a brand new Delft Update! This time there's also a test train on the new tracks. After next summer the new tracks are expected to be open for service! :D 1:38:09 Delft Campus 1:41:51 Schiedam Centrum Here we change trains for the recording (I drove to Dordrecht and then took the train back to Amsterdam - recording starting in Schiedam).
