California Native Plants Before & After (1 Year Update)

This video was filmed May 11, 2024 - I know, it's a little late! This is a one-year update on my California Native Plants in the Central Valley foothills of California's Sierra Nevada. The goal of my garden is to demonstrate how to create a waterwise low-maintenance landscape of native flowers, shrubs, and trees in the very hot climate of Central California in an area subjected to a lot of deer and gopher herbivory. I use a dripline system to deliver water, but only water about once a week from June through October (or whenever we get the first good rainfall). This is a before & after - in this video I'll show you what the plants looked like in May 2023 compared to what they looked like in May 2024, exactly one year after I filmed my first monthly update. The plants featured were mostly planted in a few waves - December 2022, June 2023, and December 2023. The main focus is on the plants that were there in May 2023, so that you can really get an idea for how much they developed over the year!
