President Donald Trump at the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey says he was 'very disappointed' with NATO member states during the U.S. war with Iran and suggests the U.S. may withdraw more military forces from Europe. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says NATO nations are on track to meet the increased defense spending goals that President Trump has demanded. President Trump tells Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the U.S. will lift sanctions on Turkey that have prevented that country from buying U.S. F-35 fighter jets. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the NATO Summit appeals for more air defense systems to counter Russia's advantage. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) joins the long list of Democrats urging Maine's Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner to end his candidacy after a woman he was dating says he sexually assaulted her five years ago. Gov. Josh Stein (D-NC) signs a state budget bill into law, ending multi-year a stand-off over funding priorities with the Republican-controlled General Assembly. In Great Britain, Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party, resigns from Parliament to trigger a special election in which he will be a candidate. He is facing allegations he improperly took millions of pounds in gifts, and says he wants his constituents to be the judges by deciding whether to vote him back in.
