Not sure how many will get this deep into the description but yes I am well aware that Ichaival is not a weapon from Norse mythology and is actually the end result of a long game telephone that somehow ended up with Fire Emblem calling the mythical bow of Odin ichi (yew) bal (valley but like in katakana). As far as I've read, Odin's bow doesn't have a name, but the place where the wood was procured to make it was. Google's AI assistant will still happily tell you that Ichaival is Odin's bow, though. This song was a bear to localize. It’s a really weird structure, gets across a lot of complex thoughts in not that many syllables, has random English words for emphasis. I couldn’t make sense of some lines so I sent it to a Japanese translator who came back to me basically saying “yeah some parts of this song are just nonsense that sounds cool.” Talking to people on the YameteTomete discord, "nonsense that sounds cool" is one of Agematsu's specialties. There’s a few parts I changed a little as well that are less accurate to the original meaning but I think better maintain the vibe and the general character of S1 Chris. It's not 100% accurate to the words but I feel it's more correct to the attitude and energy. Additionally I lost my mind trying to replicate Ayahi Takagaki's original performance. Listening to that one on repeat you can hear how she strains and screams herself hoarse and is at times spitting into the microphone to get across this like raw untamed anger that Chris used as a shield.
