News Words: Expose
Welcome to the Voice of America’s News Words. Italy is facing its worst dry period in 70 years. EXPOSE The water level of the Tiber River in Rome is extremely low. The dry conditions exposed the remains of an ancient bridge called Nero’s Bridge. It was named after a Roman ruler who lived more than 2,000 years ago. Expose means to uncover. It might refer to a physical thing, like Nero’s Bridge. But you can also expose non-physical things like a secret, a lie, a truth and more.
