We explore Isaac Newton, considered the greatest genius in human history, and two other geniuses—Leibniz and Robert Hooke—whose fame overshadowed his own. Newton and the German genius mathematician Leibniz clashed over "calculus," which became a pillar of modern mathematics and science. Newton claimed that he had devised calculus first but had delayed its publication, while Leibniz independently formulated calculus using more convenient notation and published it first.
