Hochschwarzwälder Hirtenpfad in Raitenbuch bei Lenzkirch

The 8 km long premium hiking trail, the Black Forest Shepherd's Trail in Raitenbuch near Lenzkirch, leads along varied paths through flowering meadows, past light forest edges, rocks, and piles of field stones. The 8 km circular hike begins at Raitenbacher Höhe (1050 m) with a view of the village and northwards towards the Hochfirst mountain. The Shepherd's Trail follows the paths of the shepherd boys along the high pastures. The stories of former shepherd boys leave their mark along the way. Other traces in the landscape come from stronger forces: First, glaciers pushed rocks and formed valleys and lakes, then humans cultivated the land.
