Today we will talk about how you can buy military bonds and more. Why are they issued, what advantages do they have and how they can be attractive to you. What information do you need to have before buying bonds. And do they really pay for themselves? Hello! You are on the channel Zrobleno - Positive Accountant. Here I talk in simple words about taxes, business and finance. At the end of the video I will show how easy it is to buy military bonds, having only a phone at hand. What is a bond? A bond is a debt instrument, that is, a document confirming that you have lent money to someone. By buying a bond, you are lending money for a certain period to the person from whom you are buying it. In exchange for this, after some time (for example, after a year or several years), you expect to get your money back and additionally a certain percentage for it. That is, you earn on this. Simply put, it is like lending someone a loan at interest, only with a guarantee of returning the money. That is, you buy a bond for example for 1000 UAH at 10% per annum and after a year, the person from whom you purchased this bond returns you 1100 UAH. Most often, bonds are issued by the state or a company. Bonds are considered one of the simplest types of financial instruments, so they are often recommended for those who are just starting to invest. Unlike stocks, by investing in bonds you know in advance what profit you will receive and in what period it will be paid. Remember that all bonds carry the risk of bankruptcy. How great this risk is depends on who issues these bonds. Types of bonds. Bonds come in the following types - state, municipal, corporate, investment. They differ in who issues them. The issuer is the one who "sells" its securities to investors, and investors, buying them, give money to this company or organization for development. For example, if the issuer is the state, then accordingly you buy bonds from the state and in our case the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine pays interest and nominal value. Most often, the state issues bonds to finance the state budget deficit. State military bonds speak for themselves. The funds received from their sale go to support the economy and, first of all, the army. This money is used to buy weapons, ammunition, cartridges, equipment, medicines, and pay salaries to the military. The main advantage of state bonds over deposits is that the income from them is not taxed. And the risk that the state will not return your money is simply negligible. This can happen in the event of default, when the state does not have enough money to fulfill its financial obligations, that is, it cannot pay its debts. And then I will tell you more about this. On the other hand, if you buy an investment in a company, such as Amazon, Tesla, Apple, then that company has to cover its debt obligations to you. Companies issue bonds to raise additional funds and often this is a more profitable and cheaper way for them compared to a bank loan.
