SISA and DONYA VICTORINA. NEXT TO MARIA CLARA, two of the most memorable female characters in NOLI, the musical, are DONA VICTORINA (Nanette Inventor) and SISA (Irma Adlawan-Marasigan). Almost cinematically, the play's narrative thread interweaves the many subplots and manages to present fleshed-out characters who interact with and affect the lives of Ibarra (Audie Gemora) and Maria Clara (Monique Wilson). The much-acclaimed production that toured the Philippines, Japan and Malaysia was directed by Nonon Padilla for Tanghalang Pilipino of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Libretto by Bien Lumbera, music by Ryan Cayabyab, choreography by Edna Vida and sets and costume design by Salvador Bernal.
