In Part 3 of my 1,500-mile solo sailing journey aboard my Gemini 105mc catamaran, I depart Cabo San Lucas, round the cape, and begin the long trek up the Baja California Peninsula toward San Diego. The first leg is calm and beautiful, leading me to anchor in the remote bay of Bahía Santa María, where I spend a few days hiking and exploring the rugged coastline. Then, I face a bumpy, exhausting second leg before finally reaching Asunción.
