Richmond Hill, Georgia "The Flood", August 2024

Aerial drone footage of the areas in Richmond Hill, Georgia that were flooded after torrential rains from tropical storm Debby in mid August, 2024. Both the Ogeechee River and the Canoochee rivers overflowed their banks and converged in Richmond Hill. 5 different housing developments were flooded and US 17 was flooded from the Ogeechee river and closed into Richmond Hill which greatly impacted traffic flow. Interstate 95 crosses both the Canoochee river and the Ogeechee rivers where they join just west of the highway. The bridge was dangerously close to be being shut down due to rising water which would have gridlocked this area completely. The damage and cleanup is ongoing and many families were impacted and many lost everything they own. All Video filmed by Eagle View Aerial, Richmond Hill Ga, 31324.
