Empresa “La Roma” no saldrá a trabajar tras amenazas y extorsiones

While traveling the San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL) – Ventanilla route, a public transport bus belonging to the Consorcio Roma company was attacked with gunfire on Néstor Gambetta Avenue in Callao. The assailant didn't seem to care that the bus was full of passengers. How did the incident unfold? According to preliminary information provided by passengers and witnesses, the criminal arrived on a motorcycle via the service road. Seeing that the bus was stopped, he attempted to board as if he were a passenger; however, he pulled out a firearm and shot the driver three times. After the attack, the assailant fled in an unknown direction. Although he attempted to wound the bus driver, none of the bullets hit him. However, the vehicle did sustain damage. It should be noted that officers from the National Police of Peru (PNP) from the Márquez police station arrived at the scene of the attack to collect the necessary evidence. Security cameras on Néstor Gambetta Avenue will be key to identifying and locating the perpetrator. BUSES WILL NOT OPERATE Due to the attack on the bus, the Roma transportation company has decided to suspend operations. Passengers lamented the ongoing situation affecting the sector and the lack of effective response from the authorities.
