Do you feel overwhelmed by worries? That your mind can't rest, that your heart is weary, and that, even though you have faith, you sometimes struggle to trust? In this video, we contemplate the Sacred Heart of Jesus as the refuge of weary souls. The saints didn't turn to the Heart of Christ as a mere devotional image, but as a living place of rest, trust, peace, and love. Saint Gertrude heard its beating; Saint Francis de Sales spoke of dwelling in the wounded side of the Savior; Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque received the message of a Heart burning with love for humanity; Saint Thérèse of Lisieux discovered in Him the path of simple trust; and Saint Charles de Foucauld found in Christ the rest of his entire life. Based on Pope Francis' encyclical Dilexit Nos, we will see that the Sacred Heart is not a secondary devotion, but a call to return to the heart of the Gospel: Christ loved us, gave himself for us, and continues to call every soul to rest in his love.
