Reducing Road Crashes: Professional Drivers Call for Special Certification

Stakeholders in the transport sector have called for the introduction of mandatory certification and continuous professional training for passenger and commercial drivers to improve road safety and curb the rising number of fatal road crashes across the country. The call was made by the Road Safety Advocacy Coalition Uganda (ROSACU), which says a driving permit alone is no longer sufficient to guarantee professionalism and safe public transport.
