The Harsh Reality of Coming Home After 6 Months Away
Ever feel completely lost after returning home from a massive trip? You are definitely not alone. In this video, I’m opening up about my own experience coming back home after traveling around Australia for six months. I expected to return as a completely new person with all my problems solved. Instead, I hit a massive wall of reverse culture shock, post-travel depression, and a total lack of motivation. It’s incredibly jarring to come back and see that while you were having life-changing experiences, everyone at home was moving forward with houses, careers, and marriages—leaving you feeling like you're suddenly lagging behind in life. Meanwhile, society just keeps spinning as if you never left, and you realize people don't care about your travel stories as much as you thought they would. If you are dealing with the post-travel blues, feeling stuck with too many choices, or struggling to find your momentum again after a gap year or backpacking trip, this video is for you. I talk about the harsh reality of leaning back into old habits, how to push past your comfort zone at home, and the two things you can do right now to find your direction and get your spark back. Have you felt this way after traveling? Can you relate to the post-travel crash? Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below!
