I racconti fantastici di Mircea Eliade - con H. C. Cicortas, I. Tavilla e F. Palmieri
These two volumes comprise the first complete Italian edition of Mircea Eliade's fantastic fiction. A universe where history coexists with the irrational, youth and old age are mere enchantments, and the past is a place to be reached on a sleigh. Genetic mutations and biological regenerations, along with prodigies and mythical themes, leave the characters who inhabit it with the lingering suspicion that they are living within a hallucination. Their task is to distinguish appearances from the true, hidden meanings of the world, preserving collective memory thanks to the magical power of words, even in their most disturbing and paradoxical effects. Horia Corneliu Cicortas studied philosophy at the Orientale University in Naples, where he later earned his doctorate with a thesis on Mircea Eliade and India. Since 2013, in addition to his teaching in philosophical and religious disciplines and his research, he has edited and published works by Eliade, Cioran, (Ioan Petru) Culianu, and other contemporary authors for numerous publishing houses. He is a member of the Italian Society of the History of Religions and the Italian Association of Romanian Studies. Igor Tavilla, a scholar and essayist with a background in philosophy, has placed the thought of Søren Kierkegaard at the center of his research since his undergraduate thesis, which he then explored in depth during his doctoral studies. He is currently working on the experientialist metaphysics of Nae Ionescu, and alongside his research, he also works as a translator. He is a member of the Søren Kierkegaard Institute of Central Europe and the Italian Society of the History of Religions. Francesco Palmieri: journalist and editor-in-chief of the ISMEO biannual journal "East and West." Greetings from Oana Bosca Malin, Romanian Academy in Rome
