In the plot, we follow investigator John Sugar, played by Colin Farrell – who initially seemed like just a private detective in Los Angeles, but little by little, secrets far stranger than in any ordinary case were revealed. Now, the new season expands this universe and delves even deeper into the mystery of who — or what — Sugar really is. The first season featured Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles in some episodes, which helped give it its very particular cinematic tone.
