Preza Fortress: A Beautiful Historic Place in Albania

Preza Fortress is a medieval castle on a hill in central Albania. Built in the 15th century, it helped protect the area from Ottoman attacks and may have been connected to the famous Albanian hero, Skanderbeg. The fortress has strong stone walls, four round towers, and a square entrance tower. In the 19th century, a clock tower was added. Inside, visitors can see old military structures and a small mosque that has been restored. The area around the fortress is full of ancient olive trees, some over 2,000 years old. From the top, you can enjoy amazing views of Tirana, Kruja, and even the Adriatic Sea. The fortress is easy to reach from the SH52 highway. A nearby restaurant serves traditional Albanian food, making it a great place to relax after exploring. Preza Fortress is a special place where visitors can learn about Albania’s history while enjoying beautiful nature.
