Minorías en China: los Dong. Visito sus aldeas en las montañas

The Dong are a Chinese ethnic minority living mainly in eastern Guizhou province. Guizhou is one of the poorest provinces in China because it is very mountainous and was even closed to Westerners until well into the 1990s. A third of the province's inhabitants are minorities. The footage in this video was taken in four different villages. The most touristy village is Zhaoxing, and the most remote and uncommercialized ones are Dali, Zhanli, and Tangan. Genetically, the Dong are similar to the Thais. Their language also belongs to the Krai-Dai language family (like the languages of Thailand and Laos), unlike Mandarin Chinese and most of its dialects, which belong to the Sino-Tibetan language family.
