下城門水塘 (Lower Shing Mun Reservior) (4K)

Lower Shing Mun Reservoir is located in the Shing Mun Gap valley, south of Needle Hill and downstream of Shing Mun Reservoir in the New Territories. Together with Sheung Shing Mun Reservoir (Jubilee Reservoir), it forms the Shing Mun Reservoir water supply system. Construction began in 1961, and water supply commenced in 1965, with a capacity of approximately 4.299 million cubic meters. It is part of the Plover Cove Freshwater Reservoir water supply scheme and is one of the few reservoir facilities located outside the country park area.
