It's often confused by its similarities to Japanese cheesecake. You can make the original sponge cake recipe at home, perfect for a fluffy cake and a dessert to accompany tea and coffee time. Ingredients: 6 eggs 100g flour (1 cup) 100g sugar (half a cup) 100g butter (4 tablespoons) 100ml glass milk (half a cup) 1 packet vanilla extract Preparation: 1. In a small pan, add 100g butter and 100ml milk and stir over low heat until the butter melts. 2. Sift 100g flour and 1 packet vanilla extract into a bowl and pour over the butter dissolved in the milk. 3. After thoroughly mixing all the ingredients, gradually add the egg yolks and whisk. 4. Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt. When the egg whites become frothy, add 100g of granulated sugar and whisk until they become slightly runny, not snow-white. 5. Pour the beaten egg whites into the bowl containing the yolks, working from the bottom up. 6. Line the inside of the cake pan with parchment paper and the outside with aluminum foil, then pour the cake batter into the pan. 7. Place the cake batter in a baking dish and pour boiling water over the sides. 8. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (350°F) for about 1 hour. Enjoy...
